Nesrin was aware that this wasn't her best event, but felt comfortable enough with her skills, particularly after the Naadam, that she didn't think she'd be embarrassed. A steady stance, eh? Very well. She'd prefer to see the Shiba's moves a bit first anyway. She was very sure they'd be different from her Unicorn cousins'.

She stepped up when called, and bowed to her opponent. He seemed...about as she expected a Shiba to seem. She wondered if she'd talk to him later, doubting that this competition would engender the same camaraderie the the earlier training had.

And then it was time to take a breath and clear her mind of all those thoughts, feeling the mat beneath her toes and determining that she wasn't going to be moved from that spot until she chose to be.

Her opponent seemed to be sturdy on his feet, though not very nimble and a bit taken aback from the Unicorns form.

Seeing him shaken simply by the strength of her stance, Nesrin moves, staying low apply her connection with the earth as leverage when they connect.

She's definitely not trying to injure anyone, though she's aware that sometimes fate takes a hand in that outcome.

D2, Sumai Damage, choosing dice: 3d10 9, 4, 7, Keeping 4

Seeing him waver, the Battle Maiden pushes her advantage, though still cautiously, as befits a stance that relies of remaining connected to the earth below.

D2, Sumai Damage, choosing dice: 3d10 10, 1, 10, keeping 1

She finds herself thinking, as her grip tries to tighten..gently, like a bird you need to hold on to without crushing it.

Gently, or not, she digs into the mat, trying for a final push...rolling her opponent past a shoulder and out of the ring.

Summoning the willpower from deep inside him, Tōya manages to hault the Utaku, but only barely.

(ha! I'm guessing no damage on ties. Wondered when he'd use some void. :))

Not quite enough. Nesrin shifts with the change in momentum, seeking a better grip, but feeling that she hasn't quite found it yet.

Attempting to still overcome the woman, Tōya continues his strong push.but unfortunately slips with his footing and Nesrin gets the better of him.

D2, Sumai Damage, choosing dice (adding forgotten +1k0 for rank 3): 4d10 10, 5, 6, 10, keeping 5

Even with a grip that was less secure than she liked, Nesrin could take advantage of a slip, and does. With a final push, Toya is out of the ring.

With a bow, Nesrin thanks him, "A good match, Shiba-san."

Clearing the space for the next combatants, she pauses off to the side, trying to clear her mind after the adrenaline rush of the contest. 26 But it's just a bit too soon and there are too many people wrestling and moving too and from matches and cheering. She'll find time tonight.

The Shiba bows.

"Thank you for the match. I should have been fiercer before I saw my downfall instead of after."
