Clad in a sumai's traditional wrestling mawashi, Ginkarasu waves to whatever audience is watching with a smile, before bowing to Hida Goroharu-sama and Mirumoto Hinata-san. His death-marked face disappears from view as he bows deeply.

As he rises, the smile is gone. He takes a sip of blessed water in order to wash out his mouth of any impurities.
He moves to the ritual salt and makes sure to clap his hands to spook any spirits that might be lingering nearby. He does this a bunch, because he'd seen too many spirits recently to think it not worthwhile. He tosses some of the salt into the ring, to purify it as well.

Then he moves down to his starting position, resting both hands on the ground in fists and staring across the ring at Hinata as fiercely as he can.

He gets up and moves out of the ring, repeating the clapping and salt tossing, before going back to the crouching starting position, this time with a loud "KIAAAIIII" shout to show his ancestors that he is a warrior!

As his fists touch the ground again, this time his eyes do their best to stare through Hinata, showing only that the Mirumoto faces not only Ginkarasu's body, but also his spirit, wholly focused on this bout before all the Empire.

His opponent is clad in the gold and green of the dragon. She bows to the Yasuki as well and takes her stance. She seems sure footed enough, but the Crabs loud shout seems to put her off her guard, and her own return shout was weak in comparison.

Ginkarasu rockets upwards and at the Mirumoto as fast as he can after both of their knuckles touch the ground. He's a blur, he's a force to be reckoned with. He's remembering every lesson he's ever been taught. Every story and sumai match he's seen or heard about. Maybe his ancestors did hear him with that shout he made. Maybe pitting students that hadn't trained under the Ruby Champion wasn't fair. Maybe he had one moment in his life to be impressive, and this was finally it.

It'd be sad if it was only one moment. He's still so young.

But he reaches towards perfection despite it.

The Mirumoto struggles to keep her footing

Ginkarasu, despite his fierceness, does very little damage. She is his opponent, not his enemy.

He proves his youth and inexperience. His continued efforts to get the Dragon off her mountain do not have quite the same panache, even as he puts more of his spirit into his attempt.

Ginkarasu is able to maintain his advantage

He doesn't use blows but does try to shift Hinata ever closer to the edge of the ring. But has the Silver Raven bitten off more than he can chew by trying to be technically impressive? It's gone well for him so far, but it could easily turn around now, here, at the end!

Finally a bit of a grin returns to Ginkarasu. "Good Mirumoto-san! Let's see the strength of the Northern Mountains!" He pushes back, hard as he can.

They're back in the center again. This time Ginkarasu has to try much harder, and he stops trying to show off.

The two are locked in the center, neither gaining ground for a moment before Hinata is able to push Ginkarasu back.

"Where is the might you showed at the start, Yasuki-san?"

"Pushed back by your might Mirumoto-san. An honor to have faced you and your resolve." He looks down at his feet, just out of the circle, and then bows.

"Good luck with the heraldry! This was a good start to the Championship!"

He stretches a bit, then moves aside to let the next match to start.

Off to the side, he attempts to settle himself. Try as he might though, the other matches catch his attention.
