The New Winds

An odd sight can be found in the halls of the House of the Laughing Carp. It seems a new guest has arrived, a traveling merchant who deals with animals. Unfortunately, one of the wicker baskets he has was full of live frogs to be sold in the market the next day and it was accidentally left open, filling the halls with hundreds of the green, smiley things!

Participants: Unlimited, Bayushi Kaidan must participate.

Each participant may attempt to catch and collect the frogs! To do so, make a Jiujutsu / Agility roll at TN 20. Success catches a frog, with each successful raise or exceptional success granting an additional frog.

Failure on this roll means in your zeal to catch the frog, you accidentally squished it, killing it, plus an additional killed from for each unsuccessful raise

Players may roll a number of times equal to their Stamina rank.

If 100 frogs or more are caught, the merchant will be quite happy for the assistance and will reward those who succeeded at least once.
If more than 20 frogs are killed, the merchant will be angry, and there will be consequences for each participant who killed a frog.

"What the? SOOOOOOO MANY FROGS!" Ginkarasu exclaims loudly. "There's gotta be hundreds of them! HEEELP!"

He gets his straw hat from his room to try and catch a bunch of them, moving carefully not to step on any as he goes. He throws on the raven cloak, thinking this would be a good time to use that kind of bonus. It wasn't an event, it wouldn't be cheating!

Coming back out the raven feathered cloak billows majestically as the young Yasuki tries scooping up as many as he can in the hat! He eventually gets 17 of them back into the merchants baskets, not killing a single one!

Ichiro manages to capture a number of them... though misfortune befalls a handful.

OK, this wasn't exactly covered in battle maiden training, but surely she could catch a few of these before they got everywhere. She didn't want to be woken up a half dozen times tonight as people woke up shouting because of a clammy frog hopped on their face, or was in their kimono or drinking cup.

With the same skill she'd learned for catching fish bare-handed, she gently scooped frogs from the wall, from someone's door, clinging to her kimono, and even in mid-hop. It took a moment to spot the merchant in the chaos. But once she did, she could drop each little froglet into their basket for safekeeping.

Nobuko had come down to try and visit with some friends since they were so disconnected from her with her being housed in her rooms at the Academy... and when she came into the hall found herself in a strange and chaotic scene.

Several of the frogs hopped her way since the door was open and she rushed to catch them, managing to trap three in her skirts but in her haste to slam the door shut and prevent another from going through... accidently slammed it on the poor creature as it was jumping.

She let out a horrified gasp, "Oh no! I'm so sorry frog-san!"

Kazuko joins in on catching frogs, nostalgic of her time at Hirosaka as she's reminded of catching frogs with her peers there too. A shame she won't be able to eat these though. In the middle of her reminiscing, a frog jumps at her face and she falls over backwards, shrieking and squishing a few frogs.

"Ah, sorry if anyone got scared.... Also, sorry frog-sans."

Ichiro was large and brutal and powerful but he was also fast and though he has had few chances to really show it he had a level of control with his body that few would suspect of the Unicorn.

his hands darted to and fro plucking frogs gently from the ground and a few from the air mid jump as they tried to escape his undeniable grasp.

Kaidan was about to head out when he heard the ruckus. Not again... He held little Ninya for confort as the little evil creatures entered his room. He moved back retreating leaving the door opened. He fell on a corner. I should never help a soul again...Stupid frogs! "GET THEM OUT!" He shouted at the tops of his lungs.

((52 frogs caught so far, 8 killed. Both triggers can happen, as not everyone has killed some ))

Kokyou hears the shouting and as soon as he opens his dorm door, he sees the nasty creatures hopping around. Trying to get rid of them in the fastest way possible, he starts to kick them up in the air to catch them with a bag. Unfortunately, he overdoes a few of those kicks.

The kitten in his arms wanted to go play with the tiny invaders. She wiggles around and hisses at the boy. But something clicked on the little cat. Please behave... Help me Ninya chan. The little kitten could see the fear in Kaidan's eyes and instead of running off she licked his nose.

Helping catch runaway frogs seemed the least Matsu Qiang could do in partial repayment of Kaidan's earlier favor, so the young Lion was there, too. Conscious of his strength, Qiang was careful as he stooped over the tiny amphibians, scooping them up delicately and returning them to the vendor.

"Come on guys who's shouting..." Kichiro walks into the crowd rubbing his eyes after recovering from a nap. The events of today proving exhausting.

Then he saw it. The field of hopping green and scrambling samurai gathering them up. After the initial surprise, Kichiro simply shrugs and joins in.

Grabbing a near by empty pot Kichiro chases after the frogs and slams the pot's open top over them. After a successful third, Kichiro feels something gooey underneath his right sandal. "Nope not even." Kichiro steps away scraping his foot against the ground as if to clean off the squished frog without acknowledging it.

Frogs! Frogs everywhere! Kenji hurried and collected some of them.
