(D5, LE) Another Time for Correspondence (closed)

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"I heard they want to give us to the imperial legions. I really hope not. I made peace with the way of the battlemaster long ago, but inside the empire is not where I am comfortable."

[Kakita Kenji]

"Will you not continue to walk the Way of the Kaiu?" Kenji asked, changing ones school was a big thing. He would understand it, though living that far in the North, it would be hard to find a Sensei who could teach Aiichiro the secrets of the Kaiu.

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"That's the only reason I even hope my sensei is planning something. The way of the Kaiu is a secret to our own, and non-crabs, sometimes even non-Kaiu, are not allowed to even enter the castle."

[Kakita Kenji]

"Then it's most likely that Kaiu-dono has taken the neccesary steps to protect the secrets. Maybe you're already promoted and the letter finds it way to you tommorrow or on your way back home?"

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"I know she did not on my education. Not teaching a Kaiu the ways of the Kaiu is... superfluous. If I leave the Clan, by the vow of loyalty to my dojo I won't ever use my techniques elsewhere."

[Kakita Kenji]

"Yes, hopefully things are sorted out when you come back to Kyuden Kaiu."

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"Shiro Kaiu. All our castles but the Yasuki ones are fortresses, so Kyuden is a title of respect given for Kyuden Hida. I have been there. Where Shiro Kaiu impresses you by being literally inside the wall and having all the elevators and fancy mechanisms, Kyuden Hida impresses by being almost a mountain."

[Kakita Kenji]

"Oh, i didn't knew that. That sound really,... impressiv. Maybe i lay my eyes upon it myself?"

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"Kyuden Hida always is glad to receive any help it can get."
Fastforward to Kenji working as oni bait.

[Kakita Kenji]

In an alternate universe Kenji get's married to a Yasuki to be ultimatly killed of by an attacking Oni Horde. However this was not the universe.
"If you ever need a talented Duelist, i'll be there" Kenji offered.

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"They send there mostly the Daidoji. And mostly nearbying the Hida lands as well. Obviously they don't send Daidoji to the Yasuki lands. Which are thankfully far from the Wall."

[Kakita Kenji]

Kenji took another sip from his cup.
"Sooo,... what are your plans should you really be married into the phoenix?"

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

He looks around.
"Join the inquisitors Asako-sensei talked about."

[Kakita Kenji]

"Inquisitors?" Kenji could vaguely remember the lesson, but the details were missing

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"Do you remember what maho is?" He asks carefully.

[Kakita Kenji]

"Of course! I could never forget that,.... heresy" he exclaimed

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"The Phoenix who hunt maho. I think only shugenjas can join the sect, though."

[Kakita Kenji]

"Hmmm, but maybe you can impress them with you knowledge?" Kenji replied

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"They have many sages, why would they need me?" He chuckled at the idea.

[Kakita Kenji]

"This may be true, but forget that you were voted as the smartest in Hirosaka! And also, how many of these scholar have first hand expierience with the Taint? We faced the tainted Zokujinn, and you also know Asako-Sensei, maybe that helps too?"
