The New Winds

The rising sun found Ichiro kneeling in prayer at the shrine to Bishamon. He did not pray for victory for he knew the Fortune would expect him to provide that himself were it to happen. Instead he prayed for a fair and glorious bout. One where his abilities, win or lose, could shine through to their true potential.

He desired to win, of course, but desire was, after all, a sin and to seek the Fortune's favor with that intent would surely spell disaster.
