[D5, EE] Organising a Gift

If there was one thing that the time at the Kenji Academy had taught, it was that Kakita-dono had an excellent taste in alcohol. So Kenji was relatively conclusive about what he would give the Grey Crane as a present for the ceremony.

But it couldn't be just any alcohol, oh no, he needed a story, it had to be something special. And Kenji knew exactly where he would get something like that.

He entered the Merchant House of the Exotic, he noticed someone, someone he hadn't interacted with til today, but wich Mon was more then familiar. "Hello, Yasuki-san, we haven't introduced ourselves, Kakita Kenji, an honor." he said while bowing.

The Yasuki turns..and stumbles slightly. He gives a BIG grin and a bow.

"Good evening, Kakita-san! Yasuki Jun. Are you here to find something delicious as well?"

"Oh, are you looking for something too? I'm looking for alcohol, wine or sochu, but it has to be something special."

Kenji noticed the wavering. It seems this crab was different from the ones he knew.

"Would you like to come with me? They say I'm good with crabs. At least with your cousins," he said with a smile.

Jun walks over to Kenji and pulls a flask out of his kimono's obi pouch.

"I would love to find something to help you! Taste this and tell me what you think first so I can get a feel for your tastes"

Not necessarily Kenji's style, but the Yasuki was said to be able to get almost everything.

He took a careful sip from the bottle,...

It was a quite flavorful sake. Extremely high quality, though it did have a bit of an alcohol bite to it as an after taste.

"That's some really good Sake, Yasuki-san!" he said. Kenji's experience with alcohol was little, maybe the Yasuki was the Key to get the perfect Gift for Kakita-dono.

"I know it's good, but tell me what flavors come through to you. What is it that makes it good!"

He takes a pull from the flask, a bit bigger than the one Kenji took, before putting it back away.

I liked that the tastes came first and then the sting, truly something I had never experienced before. Most of the sake I used to drink was mostly bitter in taste. These were more,... fuller? I think that describes it quite well.

"I see. And do you prefer more savory, sweet, or tangy flavors?"

"I prefer Sweet and tangy flavours, a trader once had a sauce with him that had the exact balance between the two of them" Kenji started to water his mouth when he remembered this"

Another Crane and Crab Adventure! Kenji follwed Jun around, as he, most likely, is more well versed around markets then Kenji is.

They stop at many stalls and the Yasuki works his magic with the owners, gaining the boys samples of many different types of sake. Jun's unsteady feet and sway seems much more pronounced, and Kenji likely feels the effects of the drug (alcohol). Eventually though, Jun exclaims after a sample:

"Aha! This should be perfect for your tastes! It is a rare one too! Only a few bottles are made each year. Independent, not part of any Clan. I know we have been trying to buy them out for years!"

"It doesn't matter what he wants, how much do you have! I'll make sure that's what he takes!"

Normally Kenji would be a bit more careful, but normally Kenji is not drunk either. He gave the Yasuki a bag full of money which he carried with him. "This ish,... ish hopefully enouf," he stammered.

Jun takes two koku.

"One for me, for my fee, and one for the merchant. now, let me get you that sake"

((Gain +1 high quality Sake, suitable as a gift for Kakita Toshimoko, lose 2 koku))
