(Day 5, LA) What Remains

Asahi found himself at the Poisoned water Sake House again. It was in a much different state, however. He had heard there had been some disturbance the previous night, but that would not explain its relationship to the fire. The Dragon approached the rubble carefully.

The site is truly something to behold. Normally a burned out building has some hint of what it was before, but where the Poisoned Water Sake House once stood, there is only ash and soot.

The Dragon slowly and methodically began to search through what was there, trying to piece together the cause of the fire.

By all acounts, what started the fire seem true. The Shugenja began their rituals, but when they summoned the Fire kami to cleanse, instead they got a firestorm. As if the priest only put enough energy that would normally light a candle, instead they got a wall of flame.

((If you have Forbidden Lore, Gaijin Pepper, your character can have a theory of what happened, but without the forbidden lore, it is truly in-explainable.))

Asahi found what appeared to be the center of the explosion and sifted through the rubble, finding something that didn't look like part of the building. It was unlikely to tell him anything, but the Dragon focused his thoughts and opened his mind, trying to get a sense of who had handled whatever had been here before the fire.

The remains of what seemed to be a barrel of some sort were brought into the sake house last by some sort of working man, who looked like he spent time on a merchant ship

It didn't tell him much, but it was information that might be useful in the future. For now, he decided to go find dinner.
