Everything went splendidly with the test bake last night, but that would not be fresh enough. No, he's going to recreate those results this morning. He waits for the kitchen staff to be finished with serving breakfast before getting started.

Making something you already made so successful shouldn't be rushed, just let your body go through the same motions as last night; and anything he learned last night totally left eluded him this morning.

But that gives him an idea. . . He's got just enough time to find a servant and make a request. A bottle of cooking sake, put next to the dress kimino he will wear to the celebration feast.

The smell of cooking caught Saburo's attention and he popped into the kitchen, curious who was still cooking at this hour. They'd have their tests soon enough, and he was emotionally and mentally prepared for the archery competition this morning, though he looked forward to the Hunting one like one would their own funeral dirge. Seeing Haruki, he raised an eyebrow and bowed.

"Kaito-san. How are you this morning?" It was as close as he was getting to ask what he was doing. Haruki did like to do his own cooking, didn't he?

"Well, I was planning on recreating the success I had last night, but something went wrong with the batter. Could I get a second opinion, was it too much citrus or did the tea cook too much?" Haruki has in front of him a rather garish looking cake, bright orange covers the dish, almost hurting the eyes to look at. The only respite is the branches that clumped together to make a small pond for what looks like cheap sake with a deposit of salt.
(Ooc, Terrible roll, might as well ham it up right?)
