Wyn remains in the common room having been up most of the night he continues to work on his sketches and making more detailed maps of Tsuma as breakfast is brought to him.

[Toritaka Sasaiko]

Sasaiko announces herself.

"You asked for me, Miya-sama?"

[Miya Wyn]

Wyn looks up from where he is doodling over his breakfast, "Toritaka san, yes, won't you join me? They have some wonderful fruits this morning"

[Toritaka Sasaiko]

"Of course," she says with a slight bow as she seats herself.

"How can I help?"

[Miya Wyn]

"You have already been very helpful, I wanted to thank you for what you did yesterday. Your medical treatment was very appreciated"

[Toritaka Sasaiko]

"I but minister to those in need. But you are welcome, nonetheless."

[Miya Wyn]

"You do your school and position in the celestial order great honor. Would you accept a small token of my thanks?"

[Toritaka Sasaiko]

"Such is not needed, of course, Miya-sama. Your kind words are thanks enough."

First refusal, now that a gift has been offered, she thinks.

[Miya Wyn]

"I have been up all night preparing my thanks, I hope you will not let that effort go to waste"

[Toritaka Sasaiko]

"I am scarcely worth such an investment of time and effort for so humble a service as I may provide, Miya-sama."

And there's the second, she thinks.

[Miya Wyn]

"You have shown me the services your school provides, and now you must let me show you the services of mine, I insist" and he slides the doodles he has been working on over to her.

[Toritaka Sasaiko]

"Then I am grateful to you," Sasaiko replies and picks them up, there to see...?

[Miya Wyn]

She sees a detailed map of the city of Tsuma, including notes on wind conditions on the archery fields and the slope gradients of the dueling floors inside the academy as well as other detailed listing of commerce trade prices and agriculture conditions.

[Toritaka Sasaiko]

"This...is remarkable, Miya-sama. You must be a stand-out in your School."

[Miya Wyn]

He shakes his head, "I am but an apprentice, the masters of my school could do much better"

[Toritaka Sasaiko]

"Then it is no wonder they are the Emperor's own mapmakers." She inclines her head in deference. "I am in awe of such talent."

[Miya Wyn]

he blushes slightly, "it is nothing...just doing my job"

[Toritaka Sasaiko]

"So, I see you've done well in the tournament thus far."

[Miya Wyn]

"not Really, I have failed 3 of the five challenges, and all of those by significant amounts. Luckily Heraldry and Etiquette are my schools strong suit. The points from those two may let me at least graduate, but I fear I am well outside of the contest for champion, with the Kami's blessing being used so freely this year, it seems one of the Shugenja will likely be taking it."

[Toritaka Sasaiko]

"It will not be this shugenja, I think. I am loathe to invoke favor for this, myself--though that may be because those prayers I know are better suited to other uses than would apply here."

Sasaiko shakes her head.

"But the goal is to earn our adulthood and our new names. And I have rewards awaiting me for that, certainly, as I am certain you do. It will be enough, I think.

"And I do not think the First Magistrate was a Topaz Champion, so there is precedent for that." She smiles.
