For his choice of reward, Sanzo seems to gravitate towards things that would serve his role as a bushi: a katana and wakizashi. They would make an excellent set, and help him serve in his future duties, whatever they may be.

Being the son of... well... his father, Kokyou is awarded a position in the same level of Mai. For some reason, someone at the Mantis thought he would deserve it. [Social Position] [-50 Dojo Points]

In fact, the boy managed to become rather famous for his bravery –– and other topics the Mantis are quite fond of –– but specially due to his good behavior as a true gentleman of Fortune. They could have been expecting Kokyou to be expelled, and that didn't happen. [Perceived Honor] [-30 Dojo Points]

[Zashi]

Zashi purses his lips as he reads the standings. He had once sat at the top, but slipped quite a bit in the end stages.

No sense worrying about that now. Keep your eye on the prize, you have a goal now.

There were Crane (hopeful) in-laws waiting to meet him. If they had any doubts, there was a perfect chance coming up to remedy it. Zashi would need to make a name for himself, first with buzz from the school events, and then at the Topaz tournament. He would take the tools to do the best he could there.

Shiso was so absent from all intrigues and chitchat of the dojo that he was ripe for being considered above all pettiness while keeping a positive disposition. He thus might be called "The Smile of the Empire"!

Prashant was one of the last to come up and receive the sensei's blessings and be informed of his rewards. He bowed to all of the sensei respectfully, and particularly low to the Ikoma and Kitsuki. To the latter, he also nodded again, his eyes clearly showing his appreciation and thanks.

He then follows the proper protocol to accept a finely crafted set of... Well, rather odd tools. There were some things that looked like engraving tools, some sorts of odd beads, pieces of metal or something, and other rather strange and even gaijin-looking utensils. He seems especially pleased, and, bowing as low as to reach the ground, thanks the Ruby Champion for himself and in the name of the Unicorn clan, who he felt this gift especially honoured and respected.

The money he would have received for his way back, he politely asks that it be donated to the Doji's shrine or the city's temples, to further the city's maintenance of and research on Shinseism.
