Morning Calisthenics (Open)

[Miya Wyn]

Miya Wyn is up early for morning Kata's having requested the presence of Kitsuki-Sensei to show him a little more about self defense.

He begins working out and warming up while waiting.

Sleep still in her eyes, the sensei enters the dojo, bowing to its head before stepping into the proper training area.

"Good morning, Miya-san."

[Miya Wyn]

Wyn bows low to the Sensei, "Kitsuki-sama, I know you have a very full day ahead of you, thank you very much for making time in your schedule for me" He sighs and looks nervous, "With the battle yesterday I am worried I may need some...additional instruction in self defense, specifically fighting without weapons. I know the Togashi are famous masters of such styles"

"Very well, I am happy to assist. Come, let us begin then."

[Miya Wyn]

Wyn bows again and then moves to the first position of his Jiujitsu Kata, the basic combat readiness stance, legs askew, feet 90 degrees from each other, his weight on the balls.

The Kitsuki matches, performing a mimic of the Kata, though much more refined from years of practice.

[Miya Wyn]

Wyn begins to move through the kata a little faster, more comfortably, his movements still rough in some places but recently improved in his short time here at the Ruby Champion's Dojo. He savors the silence for quite some time, letting the kata become almost a form of meditation in and of itself.

After some time, the sensei changes up her movements to a series of open palmed strikes, fingers curled, hips wide and knees bent.

Wyn attempts to mimic the movements, trying to follow both the stance and the hand movements, looking a little awkward as he does.

The Kitsuki follows up the hand movements with a series of leaping kicks, then pauses to watch Wyn

Wyn attempts to follow the kicks that the Kitsuki made, though his movements are much more telegraphed and exaggerated. He does his best to at least keep from falling on his ass.

"Stop thinking so much, Miya-san. You need to let your motions flow like water"

[Miya Wyn]

Wyn steps back taking a moment to ready and center himself, he begins with a few kicks to loosen up some,

Maigiri, Maigiri, Yurigiri, Mawashigeri

Once he gets into the groove a little, he then again tries to follow through on the kata she demonstrated, getting it down a little better.

"Good."

The instruction continues with variations of palm strikes into kicks.

Wyn continues to follow suit, switching back and forth between hands and feet actually a little more easily then when it was just the foot movements.

After Wyn seems to be getting his movements down, the sensei abruptly stops.

"Good. Now, I will call out a number. One is left hand, two is right hand, three is left foot, four is right foot. Each time, you will strike my palm with the number called."

Wyn nods, "got it" and drops back into starting position, ready to start when she begins calling numbers.

The numbers come quick with barely a second between each, each time maneuvering herself into a different place to keep the Miya moving forward.

Wyn does his best to keep up with the constant stream of numbers, getting it down to a bit of a system and moving as directed.

When it seems Wyn is sufficiently tired, the sensei puts down her hands and bows.

"You have done well, Miya-san. Rest"
